General Bronze has worked with Tishman Technologies on three conversions of existing warehouses to modern data and telecommunication centers in the New York metropolitan area.
When Tishman was awarded the Union Station Tele-Com Center project, located one half mile north of historic Union Station in Washington, DC, they again called upon our expertise.
General Bronze's challenge was to design a new fixed window that would duplicate exactly the old projecting steel windows for this landmark building on Capitol Hill.
Since the building was half-occupied, General Bronze's engineers devised an attachment method that allowed the windows to be installed from the exterior without disturbing the building's high-tech tenants.
Working from hanging scaffolds, and utilizing high-speed lifting equipment, our company-direct work crews installed 600 windows, a custom entrance and 60 fixed louvers in just 35 days.
