J. A. Jones Construction and renowned architectural firm Kevin Roche - John Dinkeloo Associates selected General Bronze to furnish and install windows of New York University's newest dormitory on the site of the former Palladium Nightclub in Manhattan. Mouldine Windows of Wausau, Wisconsin furnished over 1,000 fixed and casement window assemblies finished in a custom color violet dual paint finish matching NYU's school colors.
General Bronze developed a creative attachment system to the brick faced pre-cast panels. Special structural spot inserts were furnished to the pre-cast fabricator's factory for casting into the panels. Once the pre-cast was installed, the pre-located inserts allowed for consistent attachment of the windows with threaded bolts vs. using costly and time-consuming chemical anchors.
Te installation was finished off in the interior with a 12" deep window casing designed, extruded and fabricated by General Bronze.
